Overview

We are a well-established interior design and refit company based in Aldershot, who due to expansion are seeking a Procurement Officer to join our Procurement and Estimating team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a step up in their buying/procurement career, someone seeking a sideways step or someone coming from a strong sales administration background with the ability to learn the procurement side of the role. As the Procurement Officer you will be office-based working 9am to 5pm Mon to Fri. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, as Procurement Officer your main duties will be to: To maintain, update and expand of suppliers and sub- contractors To monitor and ensure cost effective labour and materials are purchased from new/current suppliers and subcontractors, including delivery logistics. To process Purchase orders through XERO, including project set up and completion. To liaise with other departments, exchanging information and giving purchasing support to their functions as well as co-ordinating logistical information. To be responsible for supplier liaison and developing relationships with the aim of reducing costs and addressing arising issues. To review and identify possible improvements in any aspect of supplier or purchasing function, including cost reduction initiatives. To co-ordinate contractual and new supplier negotiations To check, process and administer incoming purchase orders. Obtain a minimum of 3 quotations per element of the project In order to be considered for the Procurement Officer role, excellent spoken and written communication skills, negotiating and networking skills and the mathematical ability to work with figures and budgets are all essential. Good judgement/business sense, analytical skills and a highly organised and accurate approach are required. You will demonstrate the ability to work well as part of a team and demonstrate leadership skills and the ability to under pressure and meet deadlines, within a fun and faced paced environment. Full training and support will be provided.
