Trainee Underwriter

Previous underwriting experience is hugely desirable, but alternatively a candidate with solid commercial insurance experience would be considered. Trainee Insurance Underwriter - Job Overview As an Trainee Insurance Underwriter your duties will include; Assisting in the design and delivery of local U/W training material Monitoring binder performance and ensuring a robust binder plan is fit for purpose, agreed and implemented into the business Creating monthly reports against actions detailed in binder/bridge Delivering accurate and timely work in line within agreed service standards Proactively proposing ways of improving products and procedures Identifying opportunities to obtain further business from customers Managing and maintaining controls in respect of sub del agreements including bordereaux exceptions Undertaking regular audits in accordance with control framework requirements Undertaking Underwriting Technical Quality Assurance QA for staff in accordance with agreed numbers Adopting a welcoming approach to change and remain adaptable to new ideas and practices Working with line manager to ensure all products wording, schedules and associated supporting documents are complete and compliant Contributing to product launches to ensure they are comprehensive, documented and include all relevant parties and that teams are fully briefed and clearly understand the product range. Trainee Insurance Underwriter - Skills & Experience Required Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the insurance sector Comprehensive knowledge of commercial insurance Previous underwriting experience is highly desirable Works well under pressure Good written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of FCA regulations and compliance Competent user of Microsoft packages and Open GI Trainee Insurance Underwriter – Benefits Offered Working hours: Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm 26 days annual leave bank holidays Salary: up to £30,000 depending on experience Thank you for your application.
