World Class Defence Organisation based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire is currently looking to recruit a Principal Product Assurance Equipment Engineer Subcontractor on an initial 6 month contract. This role would suit a Quality Engineer / Product Assurance Engineer / Quality Supply Chain Engineer from a strong Defence / Aerospace background that has Conformance / Non-Conformance skills and also experience of working within a Supply Chain environment. Contract Duration: 6 Months (initially and then ongoing thereafter) Hourly Rate: The Company are offering excellent rates. Security Information: Please Note you must be eligible for SC Security Clearance (unfortunately due to security restrictions for this role, the candidate will need to be a British National with no dual nationality and must have resided in the UK for at least 4 of the past 5 years). Principal Product Assurance Equipment Engineer Job Description: Working with Department Head and Design Authorities to identify the equipment teams objectives and applying assurance throughout its successful delivery Quality Planning: Create , develop and agree core quality activities & measures in response to each project scenario Ensure project specific Quality requirements are adopted and incorporated in the development logic e.g. development plan Product deliveries: Identify, communicate and mitigate risks and issues associated to product quality. Ensure equipment Product Life Cycle Gates are planned, gate reviews conducted & actions managed Coach the Design Authority to manage the gates/milestones process: Preparation: checks the gates inputs with the Design Authority Decision meeting: challenges the assessment outcomes Action plan follow-up: checks progress of actions Triggers lessons learnt/alerts and their further leverage Non-conformance management: Deploy the Non Conformance management process and tools Coach the Design Authority to manage the Non-conformance process Manage equipment level Non-Conformance review panel: o Ensure that NC are investigated, escalated and ensure NC's greater than 1 year are prioritized. Including correct RCA is conducted and robust corrective actions in place prior to closure. o Record in SAP QM activities and conclusion of the NC panel including providing appropriate minutes. Compliance: Coach the Engineering's Process/TL Owners to manage their processes o Check that reviews are planned, conducted & actions managed o Validate and verify the BMS documents to ensure the conformity with Quality expectations o Checks Business Links are set up and updated Assessments/Audits: Manage assessments: o Agree, plan and conduct Flash Surveys o Prepare and support teams for LRQA or MOD/Customers and internal audits Training on Quality tools/processes: Plan with Engineering management individual training needs and develop training schedule Organize and when necessary deliver training sessions, awareness, face to face (new starter….) on BMS, Quality Standards & Quality Tools (5y, 8d, VMS, 7 wastes) Assessment of the quality level including continuous improvement: Produce a quality dashboard for the covered activities, agreed with the design authority including relevant aspects to measure the improvements and customer satisfaction (gates adherence, time to close actions, NC metrics, …) and risk issues Actively drive improvement initiatives within your domain ensuring total stakeholder engagement is consistently met. Skills and Experience: Engineer with experience of quality management systems, techniques and processes. Experienced in Quality Tools & Techniques (8D, 5Y, PFMEA) Practical knowledge of non-conformance management process and SAP business tool HND level qualification with experience within Engineering or Quality Assurance Experience of working within project environment and able to operate effectively as part of project team Enthusiastic and proactive quality professional that can work well in a team and independently Advantage Resourcing is a service driven recruitment consultancy.
