The role You will be part of a small team responsible for the upkeep of a complex technology stack consisting of a production AWS estate, Linux and Windows servers and workstations, and a handful of macOS devices. You’ll provide support for users who include software developers, testers, stakeholders and transport specialists based in Cambridge and London, while also working on infrastructure projects including the deployment of cloud infrastructure. What you need to have a passion for technology and solving business problems with creative thinking experience providing first class support to technical and non-technical staff exposure to IT systems within a business setting, the more the merrier excellent people skills, a friendly manner and confident written English attention to detail and a consistent, reliable work ethic a thirst for knowledge and a desire to learn new skills time management and prioritisation skills What you’ll do Reporting to the IT Manager, this role will involve: providing tech support to colleagues and finding innovative solutions to problems communicating technical issues and updates to operators and customers monitoring critical systems to ensure reliable operation and identify issues preparing equipment, user accounts and cloud services for new starters configuring, administering and troubleshooting on-premise and AWS server systems participating in project planning sessions and delivering key elements managing external supplier relationships onboarding new starters for IT systems What is also desirable hands-on experience with Linux (CentOS, Fedora, Ubuntu, Amazon Linux) cloud-hosting experience (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure or similar) exposure to Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy virtualisation (VMware, XenServer, Hyper-V) experience exposure to Docker, including configuration, support and administration systems monitoring (Grafana, PRTG, Nagios) exposure NGINX / SVN / GIT experience What we use centOS, Amazon Linux, Ubuntu and Windows Server 2019 on the server side Office 365, Dropbox, G-suite, JIRA and Meraki in the cloud Fedora, Ubuntu, macOS and Windows on the desktop Slack and Microsoft teams for collaborating AWS - RDS, ECS, Lambda, S3, Load Balancers Terraform, Jenkins Grafana, PRTG and Nagios for monitoring What we offer An exciting start-up culture that values people & opportunities to develop your career Working on exciting projects in a friendly, creative and challenging environment A competitive salary Group Life Assurance 25 days’ annual leave Flexible working This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89710188
