Job Title: Technical Data Analyst Lead Location: Manchester Package: GBP90,000 - GBP100,000 package Job Type: Permanent Job Purpose · Lead a team of technical data analysts responsible to carry out Data Mapping, Analysis and Reconciliation support for data migration and/or integration initiatives. · Act as an SME for strategic systems (such as Guidewire ClaimCenter and Xuber IRIS) and carry out Mapping, Analysis, and Reconciliation for data migration and / or integration initiatives Key Accountabilities Specific responsibilities for MANAGING & COACHING: - Provide support, coaching and mentoring to team members to ensure that all objectives and commitments are fulfilled in line with expectations, agreements, and standards - Responsibilities include but are not limited to: recruitment and selection; employee appraisals and proactively addressing employee grievance and performance issues, and conflict resolution. It is important that these duties are carried out in accordance with Company policies and practices and in conjunction with HR. - Setting up objectives; supporting and guiding the team in terms of work prioritization; undertaking performance reviews and determining professional development needs and opportunities. - Accountable for estimates provided by the team; review of the teams deliverables; ensuring delivery of solutions on time and with the right quality while adhering to policies and procedures of the group. - Partner and collaborate with other teams (Business, Business Services, Infrastructure, Service & Support, Security, Administration, and Compliance) to ensure smooth functioning and collaboration between the teams. - Help layout and drive consistency in processes within the team. - Handle escalations, manage stake-holder expectations and conflict within the team. - Monitor and report on resource utilization; manage timesheets and allocation of team members. - Partner with the management team and other leads in coming up with new standards and procedures for the teams. - Help build capacity and competency for the Technical Data Analyst role via recruitment and/or training. Specific responsibilities for PROJECTS: - Act as an SME for strategic systems (such as Guidewire ClaimCenter and Xuber IRIS besides others) - Meet with end-user stakeholders and specialists (such as BAs) to understand requirements for data migration and associated data reporting initiatives. In partnership with the business analysts, help refine requirements for the Migration, BI team & Test team. - Assess disparate data sources (such as text files, databases, snapshots from insurance systems, etc.) to determine a suitable conversion approach that accounts for all data elements required by business. Review, interpret and assess the source and target systems to ensure conversion of data from source to target systems results in the delivery of business objectives. - Analyze datasets to create mapping between source to target systems (table & column level mapping, conversion, and filtration rules, mapping of list values). Provide references for development and test teams by writing and maintaining mapping documentation in standard, predefined formats. Supports development & test teams on data mapping related queries. - Assist business, development and test teams in resolution of data quality, data reconciliation, and conversion issues. Assists in troubleshooting issues with target systems/integrations as a result of migrations. - Provide analytic support by coordinating data extraction & profiling from various databases. - Oversee and participate in Financial and Technical Reconciliation of data as part of migration initiatives. - Participate in Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Assists test team in coming up with test strategy, test plan and writing of test cases. - Serve as the conduit between business customers, business analysts, and development team members, whether internal, outsourced or software partners. - Create, own and manage data dictionary with an aim to ease future mapping process. - Work with the Architecture team to help arrive at integration points with the Data Warehouse. - In addition to the above key responsibilities, you may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as the Company may reasonably require Personal Specification - Bachelors degree in business or computer science or related field; may be substituted by 5 years experience working in the insurance or reinsurance industry. Technical Knowledge - Knowledge of insurance and reinsurance business practice and associated supporting insurance applications. - Demonstrable skills in requirement analysis and data mapping for enterprise insurance platforms. - Previous experience in data rich acquisition projects in Insurance Domain. - Strong knowledge of SQL to be able to write queries, validate mapping and reconcile/profile data. - Strong functional knowledge of London Market / Syndicate Business. - Deep functional and technical knowledge (down to data model and schema) for either of the following Insurance Platforms: o Guidewire ClaimCenter, Xuber IRIS Experience - Minimum of 5 years experience working in the insurance or reinsurance industry. - Prior People Management experience (preferably managing team members across locations) - Experience working on data projects, assessing the quality of datasets and resolving historical data quality issues - Previous experience in data-rich acquisition projects, with hands-on data mapping and reconciliation responsibilities. - Experience working with Guidewire ClaimCenter or Xuber &a
