Overview

Hotel Receptionist Location: Harrogate Salary: £20,633 Closing Date:25/03/2020 We are looking for an outstanding receptionist to be the first point of contact for guests to our award-winning hotel. You will be passionate about providing an excellent service, which will include checking guests in on arrival, and taking booking enquiries for other areas of the hotel and spa. You will have experience of dealing with room reservations and table reservations for our restaurants. The successful applicant must understand that our service is second to none and therefore they must be able to demonstrate care and empathy. Ideally you will have experience of working in a 4 star hotel or similar and will have excellent spoken and written English. A knowledge of Harrogate and the surrounding areas is beneficial, as you will deal with queries regarding local attractions and help guests with travel arrangements as necessary. The role is varied, as no two days are ever the same, therefore it would be ideal for someone who enjoys being hands on and part of a small tight knit and professional team. A typical day would include: Preparing reports for the day Checking people out of the hotel Checking correspondence and allocating rooms to guests Chasing up late checkouts and working through check- ins Handling any queries and complaints Qualities we are looking for; To provide an efficient and memorable experience during the guest’s stay. Offering at all times a warm welcome in a friendly and professional manner Providing a friendly phone manner to all external and internal parties. Supporting all departments by communicating in a clear manner Understanding the purpose of stay for all guests and support them accordingly Managing any situation or issue in a professional manner Building your knowledge of all our offerings across the hotel, estate and spa Under taking basic concierge duties as required - this may include assisting with luggage Excellent interpersonal skills, including a pleasant telephone manner Ability to remain calm during difficult situations or in a very busy environment Good administrative skills and IT literacy To be discreet, diplomatic, reliable and trustworthy In addition, key to the role is genuinely caring about the guest experience, a confident telephone manner and excellent numerical and written skills. The position is full-time working 5 days over 7 per week including some evening and weekend shifts on a rota basis. Who are we?
