Overview

We seek an experienced Vessel Operator for a fleet of LPG tankers. You will be part of the busy operations team located in London and involved in the following activities: i. Take responsibility of a fixture from our chartering department once they conclude commercial negotiations. ii. Plan voyages for vessels and prepare/issue orders including loading/discharge instructions. Ensure compliance with charterer’s instructions. iii. Liaise with Agents, Captains, Vessel Managers to ensure optimal vessel performance and utilisation and ensuring voyage costs are kept to a minimum. iv. Co-ordinate and manage handling of LOIs (Letters of Indemnity) / Bills of Lading / AMS documentation for all vessels as required. v. Negotiate and appoint port agents and follow up on disbursement accounts. vi. Review, monitor and file all vessels reporting (NOR, LOP, SOF, Speed / Cons etc) and communicate with the Captains to make sure all details are correct. vii. Monitor bunker ROBs, price and voyage prospects. Coordinate with chartering department to optimise bunker purchase. viii. Monitor vessel movements and communicate scheduling and vessel position updates with various partners and colleagues. ix. Invoice all post fixture billables such as freight, demurrage, cargo cooling, speed-up, slow-down. x. Some travelling such as visiting ships or clients should be expected from time to time for relationship building and training purposes. Suitable candidates must be well versed with voyage operations, and have the following background/experience: · Education: University or Technical College Degree in Nautical Engineering or Science · Chief Mate Certificate of Competency – Unlimited, as a minimum · Sea experience onboard either oil or gas tankers. Must have sailed as a 2 nd Officer or above · Extensive experience working as an Operator within commercial tanker pool operations · Excellent command of written and spoken English · Effective team player with interpersonal and communication skills · Strong analytical, problem solving and time management skills A competitive salary will be paid.
