Overview
Job Title: Welder/Fabricator Location: Newry Hourly Rate: £11 per hour XCL Group are currently recruiting for a leading manufacturer, fabricator and installer of bespoke steel products and solutions for the construction, materials handling, wind farms / renewables and telecoms industries. Requirements Good understanding of raw materials and their uses and being able to work to 2D/3D fabrication drawings provided from the Works Foreman seeking guidance if needed Be able to work to given times and deadlines. Show willingness to learn new practices and procedures to enhance your individual skill level Mentor and up-skill your Semi-Skilled colleagues/apprentices when working as a team or if you are approached by any individual Maintain the highest quality level possible ensuring that parts received for assembly are checked prior to assembly e.g. sharp edges/drilled & punched holes are de-burred, end plates are spragged and balustrade panels are braced prior to welding to reduce heat distortion Remove any swarfs or foreign objects prior to works leaving the bench Knowledge & Skills Experience in general fabrication, welding both mild & stainless steel (Mig & Tig) Experience with the manufacture of staircase & balustrades Production processes Commercial awareness Interpret drawings accurately Motivate team Problem solving Transfer knowledge & experience Desirable Qualities Self-motivated Dedicated Polite Discrete Lead by example Enthusiastic Challenge activities Confident Team Player Patient For more information on this role please contact Amy Thornton at XCL Group.
