To join us as an Optical Assistant we require a minimum of 2 years experience, good IT skills and a passion for providing the very best customer care. You will work within a brand new practice in an all-round role. You will be helping patients with all their eye care needs, including contact lenses, designer frames and NHS eye care checks. You will be dispensing spectacles and undertaking pre-screening, contact lens teaches and associated admin work. The ability to dispense to all levels is preferred with a friendly and personable demeanour and strong personal work ethic. A customer-focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike. The role of an Optical Assistant offers more responsibility and involvement than your normal retail position. You’re there to help customers through their journey with us - from a warm welcome, through to help with selecting the right products for their needs. You’ll get to know your customers, putting them at ease and get a real feeling of satisfaction from helping them look and feel great. You’ll be quick to build a rapport with customers from booking their appointments, completing eye health screening and helping select the best eye care solutions for them. Competitive salary 28 days annual holiday (including bank holidays). Full time: Mon/Fri 9.00 am to 5.30 pm and Sat 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. Be able to dispense all types of lenses including varifocal and occupational lenses. Excellent communication and IT skills A flair for fashion and style with an eye for detail.
