Overview
Packaging & Raw Materials Buyer – Food Industry Working for this company, who have invested considerably over recent years, will allow you to manage your own suppliers and make your mark as a Buyer With a large supplier base you’ll be busy negotiating daily, as well as conducting benchmarking exercises to ensure materials are competitively priced as well as exploring other cost saving initiatives. You’ll work cross functionally with NPD, Supply Chain and Operations to ensure optimum material availability and you will thoroughly investigate complaints with the suppliers to trend the results and find fixes. You will manage supplier performance via KPI’s, regular reviews and crucially by forging excellent working relationships that benefit all parties. Of course there are reports to produce and as such advanced Excel skills are important to enable you to interrogate the data and identify trends. Already working within a Purchasing department with experience of supplier negotiations and packaging artwork, naturally numerical and able to react quickly, this job will allow you to further develop all of those skills in a fast paced manufacturing business.
