Role Profile Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the warehousing functions. To maintain and improve performance levels both in terms of service and financial control. Key Duties Leading, motivating and engaging Warehouse Operatives through a team of Shift Managers and Team Leaders Effectively deploying a complex set of resources to flow daily peaks and troughs to a demanding timetable Efficiently and timely deploying resources to match service levels within an agreed budget Managing and maintaining site facilities Timely recruiting and selecting agency and permanent operatives Managing the process for ensuring compliance on key internal and external audits Delivering training and development to improve the competence and capability of the Warehouse Management Teams to succeed in their roles. Delivering upon continuous improvement work streams to improve performance in relation to Quality, Service & Operational Efficiency. Agreeing a set of continuous improvement projects and managing their implementation Meticulous administration skills and processes that are consistent day in day out Work closely with other departments and support them as required in order for the company to achieve its objectives. Advising and coaching warehouse management teams in improving compliance in health & safety. Managing Health and Safety within the warehouse Knowledge, Skills & Experience An understanding of tools and concepts of Lean and 6 Sigma An ability to operate in a range of situations from the shop floor to client reviews An understanding of engagement and motivational tools and techniques Have an understanding of the key cost drivers within a business and how to affect them Able to run small projects independently Can make a decision based on limited information Has the ability to work with a site management team in order to achieve wider business goals that may be detrimental to the warehouse department.
