CL2696) The Client This UK registered charity with a team of 80 volunteers, 13 staff, 12 trustees and high-profile royal support is now recruiting for an IT Systems Administrator. If so, get in touch, our charity client is looking for someone like you The Role The IT Systems Administrator’s purpose is developing and delivering the automation and integration of the charity’s systems administration. You will collaborate with a small team of paid personnel as well as with the organisation’s volunteer led Technical teams. Key activities: •Undertake scripting and other automation tasks and ensure effectiveness is monitored. •Focus on internal improvements to make the charity’s business administration as well as its IT systems more efficient •Ensure legal compliance and licence management. •Provide written guidance for technical and end user audiences. •Work closely with volunteers to integrate their contributions to these tasks. •Provide back up to the IT Support Manager liaising with the IT outsourcing supplier on improvements to their IT infrastructure, maintaining the operational readiness of their IT systems, laptops, and other specialist software and equipment and supporting office staff and members as required. •Lead on the process of backup and disaster recovery. •Manage contracts for certain IT-related suppliers as required. •Participate in team meetings, deliver updates and assist in developing and implementing projects and initiatives. •As required assist with the practicalities of getting teams to and from airports for emergencies and help with the logistics of training events. This responsibility is shared by all staff. •Act in the best interests of the charity and help promote its vision and mission. Key Competencies •Either training or experience that demonstrates ability to undertake systems administration development. •Demonstrable knowledge and practical ability with a selection of the following: •Windows administration - both Desktop, Server and Azure, including command line •Linux administration •Database Administration (MS SQL, MySQL, etc) •Software deployment systems (Ansible, Chef, etc) •G Suite administration •Python, powershell or other scripting. •CKAN and Wordpress administration. •An advantage to have knowledge of any of Confluence, Xero, Salesforce or geospatial technologies. •Good communication skills both written and spoken. •Appreciation of and commitment to working with volunteers. •Team player. •Commitment to charity’s mission and values. Terms This permanent full time IT Systems Administrator role is office based in Chinnor. The standard week is 37.5 hours however flexibility is needed to work outside office hours including evening and weekends, attending monthly weekend training events as required. Training events will be scheduled for a weekend, once a month and this post is expected to attend some of these events. Reasonable time off in lieu is available. Car driver/own transport required. The salary is £31,744 - £33,792 and benefits include generous 6 weeks holiday pro rata plus bank holidays.
