The company specialise in innovative electronic products for the marine sector and are currently experiencing an exceptional period of growth and have achieved great success in worldwide markets. They are now looking to appoint a certification engineer to work within their product assurance team and take the lead with compliance and managing the certification process for the various areas the products are sold into. The Role Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Certification Engineer will take responsibility for managing all aspects of product certification and compliance, from embedded products through to gaining certification for global system solution projects. A key part of the role will be building and maintaining good working relationships with notified bodies and test houses. Experience of gaining certification in the radio communications industry would be highly beneficial for this role. Manage certification applications for new and existing products as required. Liaising with project managers, notified bodies and test houses as necessary; Manage in-country certification applications for global system projects. This can include gaining certification for 3rd party products; Attend project development review meetings to better understand relevant standards and certification requirements; Prepare technical construction files to EU or country specific directives. These typically include but are not limited to, the Radio Equipment Directive, Marine Equipment Directive, FCC & ISEDC; Tune in to upcoming standards changes by reviewing change notifications from IEC, ETSI and notified bodies with the purpose of providing sufficient notice of product change or re-testing requirements. Presenting these changes internally and raising relevant change requests where applicable; Skills and Experience Required A technical engineering background, biased towards compliance; A solid understanding of all aspects of product certification and testing ideally relating to wireless products; Proven experience in successfully managing products through approval processes; An enthusiasm for accuracy and attention to detail. This is essential to the success of this role; An effective communicator with excellent written, verbal and organisational skills and able to work well within our team; A conscientious self-starter, able to work independently to achieve expected goals and objectives.
