Overview

We are looking for a bright and versatile Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the design and development of the machines, printheads and digital print engines of a company based in Royston. Responsibilities • Detailed design of printing system components and assemblies • Develop innovative solutions to optimise performance and cost of products • Play a key role in concept development for new products and machines • Managing your own time and delivering design work to project schedules • Work with external suppliers to specify components for your designs Requirements • Exceptional mechanical designer with extensive experience of product development in a high technology industry • Extensive background in SolidWorks 3D CAD • Previous use of SolidWorks PDM for design data management • Experience of creating and maintaining BOMs using an ERP system (Infor, SAP etc) would be an advantage • Innovative problem-solving skills • Wide range of design experience which may include machines, products, assembly jigs and fixtures • Knowledge of a wide range of manufacturing techniques • Experience of sourcing off-the-shelf and custom parts and building relationships with suppliers • Hands-on ability to build, test and troubleshoot The following would be highly beneficial: • Machine shop skills and experience • Experience of digital printing industry This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89794422
