PLANNING SOLICITOR 5 PQE (SENIOR/MANAGING ASSOCIATE) THE FIRM - International law firm - Top 50 UK Law Firm - National leaders in Planning and Infrastructure - Nationwide specialist team THE ROLE - The Newcastle office of this international law firm is looking for an experienced Planning Solicitor to join its ranks at Senior/Managing Associate level - You will be offering your extensive client base advice on the full remit of planning and infrastructure matters, across residential, commercial and infrastructure and environmental and waste sectors - You will also be involved in handling contentious matters in Judicial Review and Lands Chamber proceedings - Clients include commercial developers in the energy, residential, transport, waste, manufacturing and retail sectors as well as a number of local authorities - No two days are the same, and just some of your day to day tasks may include working on large scale development consent orders, compulsory acquisitions, giving strategic planning advice, reviewing environmental statements, assisting with project management, all whilst supporting the firms impressive national real estate practice. - At this level you may be running matters with the support of a more junior team, as well as assisting in more complex, larger scale Partner led projects - Just some of these projects include off shore based wind farm projects, major residential schemes including garden villages and regeneration, new rail and road projects, as well as airport developments and waste and mineral projects THE REQUIREMENTS - The successful candidate must have a genuine appetite for planning and infrastructure and environmental work - You will be a qualified Solicitor with a proven background in planning law, ideally with a minimum of 5 years PQE - This team has ambitious plans for growth and further development, so this is an excellent time for you to join THE BENEFITS - Competitive salary and impressive "Pick your Own" benefits package BCL Legal is an equal opportunities employer.
