Overview

We are working with a food manufacturers to recruit a Quality Assurance Technologist for a food manufacturers based in East London. This company are rapidly expanding so it will be a very exciting time to join their mission. This will be a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, working 0600-1800. Experience within a quality department of a food/beverage manufacturers is essential. General Duties: Report directly to the Technical Department/QA Manager, being responsible for the quality, food safety and aesthetics of the product. The QC Technicians follow through on set processes and ensure adherence to good manufacturing practice (GMPs), food safety, safety quality food (SQF) standards and products. Job Responsibilities: Responsible for monitoring and programming critical control points (CCPs) Responsible for monitoring and product food safety and quality through the manufacturing process Responsible for performing sanitation verification and allergen testing on equipment and other areas required Responsible for label requirements - bar code, expiry date, printing quality, visibility Responsible for correct recording and live filing of all relevant records, logs and documentation. Ensure the correct recipe guidelines for product for product are met during processing Ensure employees are following all Food Safety and work in safety practices Ensure and educate employees on food safety and SQF standards Collect product sample for Technical Department, lab retain and the laboratory when directed Perform ATP (indicator of surface cleanliness) swabs. Monitor Hygiene standards on Product, Equipment and Machinery Monitor hygiene standards To police factory to ensure personnel and adhering to the food safety standards set by the company in procedures and policies To perform internal audits in accordance to BRC schedule To advise on required hygiene standards within factory and warehouse. Be proactive and ensure that any non-conformity is identified and clearly communicated to site quality management team To assist where necessary with customer audits and mass balance / recall exercises To assist with shelf life testing and micro / environmental testing To ensure that all activities carried out are in accordance to manufacturing operation and meeting current food safety legislation. To assist with training of factory operatives and quality / CCP compliance. Work environment: In performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, dust, airborne particles, loud noises. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, ear protection is required. Physical Demands of the Production Supervisor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for the duration of production shift to be able to observe any non-conformities and correct them. A qualified candidate must: Previous experience as QA/QC, minimum 2 years Self-motivated with proven leadership skills Prior experience in food environment is a plus Must be able to work inn a team environment Must have a positive attitude with a ‘’can do’’ attitude Must have good written and oral communication skills Ability to work in a fast- paced, effectively under pressure, and deadline-oriented environment Flexibility / availability, to meet company needs This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89700020
