Process Development Engineer

THE JOB · £30,000 - £40,000 PA. · Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager. · You will follow projects from the initial problem, through to implementing practical solutions in either process or machine development. · You will justify project investment where Capital Expenditure is required. · Responsible for providing specifications and design drawings to satisfy the requirements of the projects. · You will search for and co-ordinate with external companies to provide specialised expertise when required. · Responsible for directing the installation of equipment and processes and carrying out operator training and instruction in their use. · You will establish and produce work instructions for new equipment to comply with the company quality policy. · You will establish specifications for purchase of project materials, estimate costs, design products, tools and equipment. Work with vendors to achieve best delivery, cost and quality of required equipment, products, etc. · You will support the EHS Committee by providing and implementing practical solutions to existing and arising EHS issues to improve workshop conditions. · You will have knowledge of relevant legislation to ensure that existing and new machinery conforms to that legislation and in particular to CE requirements. · You will contribute to the Workshop through effective communications and continuous emphasis on positive human relations in order to achieve goals and team building efforts. · Responsible for contributing to a process of continuous improvement within the organisation. · You will perform other duties and responsibilities as defined in the company quality system, in the spirit described within the company quality policy. THE PERSON · Must hold an Engineering qualification to a degree level, with a mechanical bias. · Must be self-motivated. · Should have good communication skills, with the ability to deal with people at all levels. · Must have excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and relevant legislation. · Must be computer literate. · Must have excellent safety awareness. · CNC Software: Auto Cad, Pro-Engineer – Drawing systems knowledge is advantageous.
