Steel Processing/ Material Handler

Advantage are currently looking for a Steel Processing /Material Handler to join one of our Structured Steel clients based in the Halifax area. You would be required to safely unload delivery vehicles, check quality & quantity of incoming goods, ensure stock is correctly identified & put away in appropriate stock location. Select, inspect and load component material and distribute steel and fittings to various locations within the factory for assembly. Ensure all areas are well stocked and managed. Ensure equipment operated (overhead cranes, FLTs, etc) are in safe condition, with daily checks correctly completed before use & are operated in a safe manner. Actively takes responsibility for keeping workplace clean & tidy. This position will be predominantly on a Temporary basis with the view of going Permanent after 12 weeks. What will you need to be considered for this opportunity: Previous Goods in experience Confident in dealing with paperwork Keen eye for detail Valid IN DATE counterbalance FLT licence (Training provided if licence not held) Experience in operating Overhead Crane Experience working in a heavy engineering environment A hardworking mentality An honest and reliable personality Excellent time keeping The hours of work are Monday - Thursday 06:45 - 15:15 / Friday 06:45 - 11:45. Overtime rates are paid at time and half after 37 hours per week. Random drug and alcahol tests will be completed on site.
