Cavendish Nuclear (Nuclear Safety Case / Hazard Management) Summer Placement

Babcock ,
Scotland, West Yorkshire

Overview

The aim of the Nuclear Safety Case/Hazard Management Engineering programme is to give you a broad education in all areas of hazard management that will enable you to choose a specialism at the end of the programme. This will involve placements at several of our sites and projects, and training with safety case authors, human factors consultants, engineers of all disciplines, radiation protection advisors and specialists in assessing shielding requirements. There will also be opportunities to work with other specialists such as environmental management as required. Your work will support the safe construction, operation and decommissioning of civil nuclear facilities and Royal Navy submarines. You will be trained to comply with regulations and work with regulating bodies to provide hazard management advice for a wide range of engineering projects and sites using various methodologies across all stages of the site/facility lifecycle. What you'll get out of it You’ll have plenty of opportunity to visit our other sites and meet placement students from across the company at the Cavendish Nuclear Discover and Develop Sessions. During your time with us, you’ll meet a range of people, from graduates to directors, who will share their experiences and expand your industry knowledge. If you have a successful summer with us, you’ll be fast-tracked through the graduate assessment process.
