Overview
Laboratory Technician - Hot area £17.340 (salary increase of 16% uplift when working the new shifts) Outstanding multinational, leading Company in the testing and sampling field offering great prospects and full training for anyone looking to start and develop a career within a Laboratory. You will be working as part of a team within the furnace area, candidates will learn a number of techniques in order to produce a sample ready for analysis in the laboratory. Tasks: All duties to be carried out in accordance with the Company's policies, Health and Safety and Environmental policies and the Company's accreditation and quality systems. Initial weighing of samples into cups Mixing samples with litharge using an extracted cupboard Accurate weighing of metals Ensuring the Furnace area is kept clean whilst maintaining safety standards Using a handheld pump truck to move material Placing samples into crucibles and melting within a furnace Pouring small amounts of molten material into molds Required Skills and Experience: Physically fit Excellent attention to detail Good communication skills as it will be a team-based role Good level of flexibility in both time and work Maths or any science subject GCSE grade C or higher No previous furnace experience required as full training will be supplied Please be aware that this position works on a rotating shift pattern basis: Hours: Rotational shifts 6.00 am - 2.00 pm for 4 weeks, rotating to 2 pm - 10 pm for 4 weeks.
