Corporate Investigator £25k Discretionary annual bonus Stakeholder pension Private Health Insurance 20 days holiday rising to 25 Based Worthing The Company: This is an excellent opportunity to work as a Corporate Investigator for a leading UK IP protection consultancy. They provide a range of investigative services including financial and physical assets; litigation support for actions such as breach of contract, defamation and theft of corporate assets. In this fantastic role you will carry out intellectual property related investigations for major law firms and brand owners concerning the use of trade marks, patents, copyright and designs. The Role: Conducting investigations and writing detailed reports for clients. Trade mark related matters, for example the use and abuse of marks by counterfeiters, cybersquatters and other entities. During the course of investigations the investigator utilises a range of investigative techniques to gather relevant information (such as public record research using databases such as Companies House, Dun & Bradstreet and Factiva, interviewing, reviewing corporate records and other documents). The investigator is responsible for analysing the results of the investigation and consolidating the research in detailed and potentially lengthy reports to clients. The reports must be comprehensive, unambiguous and of the highest professional standard as they are subject to the close scrutiny by clients and may also be used as evidence in court. The ability to write such reports is a key skill. Writing business proposals for submission to clients, including outlining client needs and the investigative steps to be taken, analysing the relative merits of various investigative techniques, and proposing budgets and timelines. Case management, including the deployment of suitable investigative techniques, the commissioning and supervision of contractors with specialist skills the management of case budgets, liaising with clients to discuss the scope, cost, implementation and results of enquiries, using a highly professional approach and manner. The Person: Previous experience in a similar role conduction investigations using the latest techniques in interview and Investigations such as Wicklander-Zulawski. Must speak fluent German. The ability to write clearly and concisely, with English as a first language, is an essential requirement, as reports are frequently used as evidence in court. Excellent research skills using databases such as Factiva, Dun & Bradstreet, Land Registry, Companies House and other online tools such as social media and the internet generally. A very confident telephone manner and strong interpersonal skills, capable of communicating with a wide variety of audiences, including in particular the targets of investigations. Persistence and tenacity, an extremely enquiring mind and an outgoingpersonality. Experience in the private investigations sector is preferred but not essential. The ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. Excellent IT skills, Microsoft Office, Word and Outlook.
