Overview
Applicants are invited to apply for the above vacancy within the Energy and Environment Department based at the Port of Liverpool. Role Purpose: This role will help to co-ordinate and develop our environmental management programme across the group. The role will be key to developing our understanding of environmental issues and helping to develop the appropriate policies, procedures and guidance where appropriate. This role will include the following responsibilities: -To support the development of the Environment Policy within the group, looking for opportunities to support and embed the policy in the business -To develop an understanding and register of our environmental aspects across the business -To create and develop materials to raise environmental awareness across the group, looking for opportunities to integrate this into the business -To advance the environmental incident reporting process, including an ongoing high-level review of incidents looking for opportunities for lessons learnt across the group -To monitor for relevant consultants maintaining a register and recording any responses made. This will include the review and drafting of responses or collation of inputs from the group where appropriate -To develop procedures and guidance on Environmental themes, including both compliance and best practice guidance -To collect, monitor and report on environmental performance across the group -To develop and manage the content of the environmental section of the intranet Applicants interested in this role should ideally possess the following skills and experience: -A degree in an environmental / sustainability discipline -A broad understanding of environmental issues -An understanding of environmental management systems and how to develop them within an organisation -Some experience of environmental management within an organisation would be advantageous -Good analytical skills, to help interpret data and trends -The ability to work with people in all levels of an organisation, tailoring content to the relevant audience to ensure it is meaningful -The confidence to be able to motivate and influence people to change their behaviour -Excellent communication and organisational skills -Ability to deliver against agreed KPIs and to work to deadlines
