Head of Sales and Marketing – Spider is advertising on behalf of a company that is a Cemetery and Ceremonial service provider, with a diverse product range including burial plots, ash interments, prestige areas and memorial buildings for funeral services and other occasions such as weddings. They currently have 6 sites, which is made up of 7 parks, located from Liverpool in the North to a site near Guildford in the south, achieving a projected turnover of £7m. They successfully sought new investment in 2018 to enable significant expansion plans and they are now looking to strengthen the leadership team and appoint a full-time Head of Sales & Marketing to lead the business development and marketing team, deliver the brand strategy and be integral in the next phase of commercial growth. The job: The Head of Sales & Marketing is a new role and will report to the Chief Executive Officer. Your mission will be to ensure that we as a business deliver on our brand promise to our customers – “To provide personalised service for you and your family in a unique and caring environment, always”. You will lead a small team focussed on business development, business improvement, operational and digital marketing, and train and coach your people to support their career aspirations. Achieving sales and business development targets through supporting our park teams and building long-lasting commercially successful relationships with external partners and community groups (both existing and new) to create additional growth opportunities. This is an exciting time for the group following the recent investment. We have invested in a new Finance system and you will support the implementation of a new website and digital strategy that will integrate with a new operating platform that is building towards a mid-year launch. You will manage the sales and marketing budget to support our parks with marketing collateral, local events, and community engagement. Continuously reviewing the market to monitor trends and adapt our approach to the market accordingly. This may include new product development and supporting the development of new parks as the business acquires new sites. You will lead the Business Improvement Program and work with the operational team to ensure our people are focussed on our Way of Working (WOW) program and our customer promise. As part of the senior management team, you will collaborate with other functional leads and build strong cross-functional relationships with the senior team in Operations, Finance, and HR, whilst contributing to the development of our business strategy. In return, they are offering a competitive salary starting from £65,000 per annum.
