Overview
An established energy business in South Wales are recruiting a commercial analytics manager for their commercial team. This role will provide an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial analyst or senior analyst to further their career and become a team manager. The current commercial team is split into three separate divisions covering fundamentals, risk and optimisation. Depending on the background of the successful candidate, will depend on which division they manage. The head of commercial is also keen that all analysts and managers getting exposure to all commercial areas so there will be opportunity to take on new challenges in the future. Each team consists of two to three analysts. JOB ROLE Manage and oversee a division covering fundamentals, risk or optimisation Assimilating large quantities of information quickly and organising and prioritising accordingly are critical. Taking price views on the future direction of the forward markets, Reporting on positions and risk limits. Continuous seeking of trading opportunities and optimisation of our positions as the market and asset base changes Weekly and monthly SLAs with the production of positions Forward curves Gross margin forecasts Risk Management Optimisation and monetisation of our all assets Fundamental modelling - predicting the running of competitor market to predict the future of prices to inform our trading strategy REQUIREMENTS Previous experience in energy is essential and the successful candidate should have several years experience as an analyst or senior analyst Good understanding of UK electricity market and relevant fuel markets Must have a high-level of analysis skills and be comfortable manipulated and processing high-volumes of data Demonstrate pragmatic and creative approach to problem solving Committed to continuous improvement and personal development Accuracy, timeliness and a methodical approach A very high level of initiative and investigative analysis Expert knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
