Overview

This niche manufacturer with an extensive portfolio of defence and aerospace clients is looking to expand its procurement team and take on individuals with a background in strategic , as well as tactical sourcing and procurement experience. This role is not only a buying position, but also one significant responsibility and seniority as it involves all aspects of category management and vendor management. This company is part of a truly global corporation , well established with a reputation for providing high quality products integral to their defence and commercial clients. This role will involve assisting the management in driving forward positive change within the direct procurement function and adding value by running competitive tenders and managing a crucial supplier base . The role will include: Working alongside management across procurement and the wider business to help forge and implement strategy across your allotted categories, and bringing about positive change through long term strategic planning Overall responsibility for all aspects of sourcing, tendering, category management and SRM Competently managing an extensive supplier base, negotiating and renegotiating contracts whilst monitoring vendor performance to ensure consistent results and commercial success against KPI's and performance targets Liaising with stakeholders of all levels internally and externally, communicating effectively requirements for NPI's and identified risks In order to be successful in applying for this role, you must be able to display: Significant experience within tactical and strategic procurement positions, preferably within the manufacturing, engineering or aerospace industries. Strong stakeholder management and vendor management skills, with experience to the whole end to end procurement experience Excellent understanding of procurement processes, and managing NPI's Strong academic track record, including CIPS (preferable) and relevant qualifications (Business, engineering, supply chain etc) This opportunity is a rare opportunity to join a company on an upwards trajectory as it transforms its procurement function and continues to expand.
