The successful candidate will be based in our London office. About the role: We are currently looking for exceptional candidates to join our Communications practice to support our continuing growth. Applicants are required to have experience in the telecoms and media sectors which could be in a consultancy, regulator or an operator. Regulation and / or competition experience is desirable; however we will also consider applications from those who have gained broader experience in the sector. From our offices in Europe the practice serves clients across the globe. Recent project includes: - Advising the UK government on how to stimulate investment in full fibre and 5G networks. - Advising the BBC on the market test for the iplayer; advising on the Vodafone-Unity Media merger in Germany; advising a telecoms operator on an Ofcom competition investigation. - Advising a European NRA on the economic benefits of spectrum; assisting a South African mobile operator in their response to government proposals for major reform of the telecoms sector. - Advising the regulator in Mexico on the break-up of Telmex into separate network and retail businesses. About you: We expect the successful candidate to have the ability to apply a range of microeconomics tools to telecoms issues. You should have a BSc with a focus on Economics and ideally a Masters level qualification. You will be able to communicate complex economic arguments in non-technical language, and to build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues. Experience with cost / financial models in the telecoms sector and / or spectrum auctions would also be desirable though not essential.
