Overview

Our client, who is part of a local educational charity currently have an opening for a talented individual to join them as a Professional Development Manager. Office hours are 9.00am - 5.30pm with core hours of 10am - 4pm. The main focus of this role will be continuing to drive our clients position as a world-leading innovator and thought leader for the professional development, leadership, and training and development of researchers and researcher developers. You will be expected to manager multiple projects and programmes so experience of Project Management is essential. Manage and deliver a broad range of projects related to the professional and career development of researchers in higher education, including postgraduate researchers and research staff Apply and develop knowledge and experience of Higher Education Institutions to facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables Develop project proposals, define project tasks, manage resources, plan and schedule project timelines, track project deliverables Communicate effectively and manage relationships with external project sponsors, stakeholders and partners to develop relationships, networks and business Deliver presentations and training if needed Person specification and experience; Experience of working with universities in the UK and internationally in relation to researcher, staff or career development Experience of training and career development activity, and/or research in HE education or careers Excellent proven project management skills, preferably recognised through a professional qualification Confidence and authority to build trust and respect with internal and external stakeholders Track record of growing business following successful delivery of projects Knowledge of research skills Skills; Excellent project leadership and management skills Excellent communication skills both written and oral Focus on detail and delivery to time, budget and quality A pro-active individual with good interpersonal skills to work autonomously, set personal objectives and work protectively in a collaborative environment to deliver project goals Ability to travel in the UK and abroad if needed Attributes; Ability to be flexible and to work under pressure, using sound time management and prioritisation skills to meet deadlines Ability to lead and work as part of a team Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrable commitment to the concept of a learning organisation, including own personal development To discuss this role in further detail, please send your CV in Word format or call Lucy on With offices in Cambridge, Northampton and Peterborough - The ONE Group's recruitment specialists offer unparalleled recruitment expertise across seven specialist divisions; Accountancy & Finance, Executive Search, HR, IT, Marketing, Office Support and Technical.
