Overview
Role & Responsibilities Overview The Learning Designer is a senior learning design role, responsible for the creation of engaging learning solutions for our clients. Working in collaboration with team members across the business, you will be responsible for leading and executing the creation and design of blended learning solutions for our event clients and oversee the development and implementation of all related learning assets for those events. As a senior, client-facing learning specialist, with experience in the conceptualisation and design of innovative learning solutions and assets, you will be responsible for scoping customers’ requirements and designing learning solutions to meet the desired outcomes for their event. Although designing for events is the primary role, the secondary is designing for non-event-based projects. In doing this you will be creating, co-creating and curating content for non-event projects, using design theories and methods that maximise learner engagement, learning transfer and impact. This will include designing and integrating social collaborative learning into the learning approach. RTS creates a range of blended learning solutions for our clients which includes face to face, virtual, collaborative, digital and informal learning. Our solutions are learner centric and focus on creating the desired learning outcomes. We offer a range of learning assets including workshops, events, eLearning, Apps, virtual learning, MR, animations, scenario branching videos and many more. We have a team of experienced learning designers, developers, graphic artists, animators and technical developers to support the creation of learning assets. The focus of the role is to: - Work with clients and potential clients to define and scope event requirements - Design and deliver professional and creative learning assets in line with client needs and RTS quality standards from opportunity through to successful implementation - Achieve targets for client feedback on learning solutions - Achieve utilisation targets for fee earning activity - Assist in the delivery of events to RTS quality standards and to reflect our high quality, premium brand - Actively research the learning and creative media market to keep abreast of new approaches, to aid innovation and continuous improvement and to bring new and inspiring solutions to our clients. The key responsibilities of this role include: - Oversee and own the event solution design, content and implementation from potential requirement to implementation for our clients - Work with Account Managers, Solutions and Operations to: - Scope client event requirements - Define concepts and solutions to meet learning requirements - Create the solution section of proposals - Pitch concepts and ideas to clients - Design and deliver the solution in accordance to our standards and processes and to the original scope - Design concepts, storyboards and assets to meet our client event requirements and desired outcomes - Brief and support the wider project team on event solutions e.g. creative media artists, developers etc (with the support of the events team) - Quality review the asset creation throughout the development process to ensure that the asset is designed to defined standards and scope - Support and or deliver train the trainer events if required - Monitor the implementation of the assets, including attending solution delivery/ review user stats to ensure the solution meets the desired outcomes - Define new learning assets and work with the Heads of Learning, Head of Studio and the Studio team to create Prototypes and new learning assets - Follow version control processes throughout - Attend and when required deliver Pilots, Train the Trainers and events - Establishing and developing productive working relationships with all project team members and the wider RTS teams - Update Wrike daily, advising Head of Studio of any available unused / over allocated time - As required, provide specialist input to other areas of the business - As required, recommend reliable evaluation methods / approaches for each design / delivery solution - Contribute to continuous improvement activities, ensuring that all our courseware and solutions deliver the RTS leading edge philosophy / premium brand - Share new ideas and information with other members of the team, promoting an environment of continual improvement and support - Support the creation of prototypes and new learning assets - Carry out all work in a health and safety conscious manner. Conduct basic risk assessments at venues prior to delivery, flagging issues / improvements to the Project Management Team, flagging any risks/concerns to line manager and project manager Reporting Lines & Support Learning Designers (Events) report into the Head of Studio This role can be home based, or office based in Lacock. The role will involve frequent travel to our clients’ premises and if you are home based, some travel to our head office in Lacock.
