Overview
Are you a Media/Public Relations professional, looking for your next exciting challenge? A well-known Travel brand, who are based in heartbeat of London are looking for a Media & PR Manager to join their very busy communications team. Purpose of the role: To play a pivotal role within the company's busy media and PR team, leading on the development and management of high-profile consumer PR campaigns to support organisational objectives. Duties: To initiate, plan, manage and evaluate proactive PR initiatives and campaigns, in consultation with the Head of Media and PR, and with relevant contacts. To ensure that activity is coordinated with - and supports - company objectives and broader communications agenda and activities. To ensure that key audiences - in particular both consumer and Member audiences - are factored into the development of proactive initiatives. To ensure that campaigns deliver across traditional, social and other media and company channels, working with colleagues internally - in particular, the Marketing & Digital Communications team - to devise content and evaluate impact. To develop partnerships with third-parties to support the success of initiatives and campaigns, in consultation with the Head of Media and PR. To thoroughly evaluate campaign activity, providing data on engagement (Member and consumer) as well as formulating insights and recommendations to colleagues in relevant departments. To proactively seek opportunities in national, broadcast and online media to raise the profile of the organisation, in support of its objectives. To keep abreast of current affairs and news stories, and to seek opportunities to generate relevant coverage and comment on the company. To monitor editorial calendars and editorial requests to identify and pitch opportunities for the business to contribute. To play an active role in the press team, dealing with crisis and issues incidents. Working closely with the Senior Media Relations Manager and the Head of Media and PR to field media calls, draft/update statements and support Members. To act as a media spokesperson for the company among national and regional broadcast and print media. To build strong relationships with media, industry, Members and external partners. To manage, coach and develop the Senior Media Relations Executive. To work in a collaborative and constructive way with peers and colleagues to ensure successful working on shared initiatives. To manage annual consumer research project, liaising with the research company and managing the budget. To write editorial features for travel trade publications on a regular basis. To undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the Head of Media and PR or the Director of Communications. To be available for 24 hour media calls, as required, and to participate in an on-call out of hours press office rota. Skills and experience: Specific skills in the writing of editorial material for both consumer and corporate audiences, and the ability to adapt tone and content for different audiences and channels. Strong news sense and media handling skills, including understanding the news agenda, effectively pitching stories and managing media enquiries, and the ability to conduct broadcast media interviews at national and regional level. Skills and experience in managing media activity of a sensitive nature in relation to crises and incidents. Ability to think strategically and develop communications project plans that work across the Communications team. Ability to work in a collaborative and constructive way across the organisation. Creative thinking combined with strong judgement to ensure effective, targeted PR initiatives. Good stakeholder management skills, demonstrating the ability to work with existing and new partners productively and tactfully. Demonstrable success in delivering PR results to build brand awareness. INTERESTED?
