Start here Job Title: Director Operations Location: Dartford, UK Position Summary The Director Operations would be the focal point for all matters relating to Operational performance of the site. Continue to develop the Operation to be customer focused and drive improvements in line with targets to achieve the Site Strategy. Integrate with other departments to deliver on time and in budget performance in operational areas. Manage the Production, Facilities and CI functions to ensure coordinated and efficient supply of services. Work closely with Supply chain to develop production capacity plans and strategies for the medium and long term. The Role Responsible for ensuring that EHS programmes are engaged with and implemented in all operational areas on site. Responsibility for the preparation and observance of the Operations budget. Ensure effective Facility maintenance is in place, again using best practice to minimize impact on site activity while maintaining excellent reliability of plant and equipment. When appropriate, identify potential capacity and operation efficiency opportunities. Lead the Operations function through strategic goals & objectives. Develop and implement Continuous improvement activities throughout the site to achieve budgets and improvement targets. Management of employees / inside of the "Operations" team and implementation of employee-development programs in collaboration with the Human Resources Department Ensure effective Operational disciplines are followed to deliver existing products and launches of new products. In dealings with customers and when developing proposals/solutions, actively pursue Catalent’s Quality and Environmental policies. The Candidate University degree with experience in providing strategic and operational leadership in a customer driven environment. Experience of a manufacturing organization, preferably with a make-to–order strategy, is highly desirable Would ideally have received certification in Lean 6-Sigma or similar efficiency improvement programmes. Lead multi-disciplined teams to drive performance improvement projects. Strong numeracy, verbal and written reasoning skills. Pharmaceutical Industry experience would be advantageous as a strong working knowledge of the requirements of a manufacturing organization to be compliant with regulations, legislations and cGMP are an integral part of the chargeable service being offered by Catalent.
