Overview

Joining a business at the start-up phase, with a huge programme of works, we need a QS strong in NEC Contracts and extensive experience in major infrastructure or capital projects Client Details A leading innovative and rapidly growing Telecom business with huge plans for growth. Description Performing the duty of NEC Project Manager within the contract Administrating the Contract(s). Applying NEC best practice to the execution of the contract(s). The preparation of NEC interim and final assessments and payment certifications. The day to day management commercial and contract. The proactive management of the works and any defects to achieve a satisfactory completion in accordance with the Works Information including the management of contractual correspondence. Validating claims/quotations received from the Contractor, with on-site validation as necessary. Commercial forecasting and reporting, including maintaining the NEC risk register. Programme and planning activities, management and reporting Site measures as and when required. Using the contract properly to satisfy entitlements and minimise risk exposure. Maintaining key information on the status of completion to support decision making and opportunity assessment The close liaison with site management teams to ensure contract objectives and margins are achieved. Provide leadership in setting and implementing technical and quality compliance, Working collaboratively with our build partners to develop strong relationships. Profile Requirements: Performed a similar role in a major infrastructure/capital build programme of in excess of £10 million e.g. Telecoms industry (fibre optics), Rail, Infrastructure, Defence, Pharmaceutical, Highways, Nuclear etc. Demonstrable experience in NEC3 contracts Experience of handling contractor disputes. Knowledge and experience of working with programme schedules e.g. MSP or similar. Use of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word and Excel. Ability to execute works in an independent and efficient manner. Prepared to travel as and when required to attend sites. Preference: A degree, HND or foundation degree in a relevant subject.
