We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Retail Manager to manage our pro shop located within our prestigious Clubhouse. Reporting into the Director of Golf, you will lead a team of Retail Assistants and be responsible for the day-to-day success of our club retail operation by delivering an industry leading retail experience and identifying the commercial opportunities for future growth. The role requires an individual who leads from the front, enjoys interacting with their customers, is always exploring innovative ideas and strategies to drive revenue, and is keen to build a career at one of the most iconic golf and country clubs in the world. Key areas of activity will include: Prepare an annual strategic plan focusing on business opportunities for the Pro-Shop, focusing on maximising revenue, stock control, visual merchandising whilst provided a warm, enthusiastic service. Use key measurement tools to plan and review your performance. (Balanced score card, Mystery Guest programme, Profit & Loss reports, Fourth Procurement, Fourth Time and Attendance) Develop the knowledge and confidence of the team to maximise each sale through a smart and confident sales approach. Create an enthusiastic and sales driven team. Development and implementation of an online retail store. Responsible for accurate stock control, through a controlled goods received and storage process. Understand product and fashion trends and buy accordingly. Plan the layout and merchandising of stock to maximise sales. Understand members and customer needs and buy accordingly. Develop the team to anticipate member and guest needs, act upon and follow up guest requests and deliver a level of service and responsiveness that generates customer satisfaction and repeat business. Preparation of weekly rotas to ensure the shop is appropriately resourced to cover the operating hours. Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Personal Attributes Experience in commercial retail, including leading promotions and sales with a proactive approach is necessary. Strong initiative and leadership skills. Strong ability to understand and use financial data to make decisions and influence outcomes. Ability to make recommendations that effectively resolve problems. Experienced in motivating, coaching, developing and supervising teams, rotas, managing absence, giving feedback. Proficiency with MS applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Customer aware and take pride on delivering excellent customer service. Interest in the golf industry, previous pro-shop experience advantageous.
