Overview
Our client is looking for someone to be join them as part of a small Education Team, which is part of a wider, high performing Marketing, Communications and Fundraising team. The Education team produces high quality STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) teaching resources based on our clients work. It then promotes these to teachers and pupils in the UK through a variety of means including attending conferences, teacher training, working with other stakeholders, our website and social media. Their reach has seen significant growth in the last few years, particularly in the teacher training and events programme. Their ambition is for their teaching resources to reach 1 million pupils in the UK by 2022. As the Education Programme Coordinator, you will play a key role in helping them achieve that ambition through the success of the teacher training and events programme. Responsible for developing and managing a process to liaise with consultants, venues, couriers and others, ensuring the process runs smoothly, you will represent us externally by attending exhibitions when needed. In addition, you will be the main point of contact for a small number of relationships with external stakeholders e.g. the British Science Association with whom they have a contract to promote the CREST Award scheme. The role will also include supporting the Head of Education and the Education manager with tasks such as processing invoices, producing reports, the electronic newsletter, and proofreading new resources. The role offers an amazing opportunity for someone interested in education and international development who likes working as part of a small team and is interested in a part time role. This role is for 21 hours a week with flexible hours to be worked over 3-5 days. Some remote working is also negotiable. About you You are confident, well organised, enthusiastic and enjoy working as part of a team. Good at building relationships and communicating with a wide range of people, whether that is in writing or verbally, you are confident working with a range of different people, including teachers. Highly organised and a problem solver, you will be skilled at developing and improving processes that work effectively and efficiently, with an eye for detail. Additionally, you must have a calm head – capable of dealing with something unexpected that comes along and needs a quick solution Critical to the success of the role will be the ability to be highly organised, multitask and prioritise and to engage and communicate well, both written and face to face. An interest in and/or some experience or the education sector would be desirable. Why join them?
