Rigger x 2 Runcorn, Cheshire Circa £28,000 (following training period this will increase to £29,000) 36 hours per week (8am - 15:42 / 08:30 - 16:12) Our client has two opportunities for experienced Riggers to ensure the safe execution of lifting activities, including attaching and detaching the load to and from a crane. Working to high Safety, Health and Environment standards, you will lead the operations, ensuring that all equipment used is within inspection date and inspected both before and after use. You will be responsible for obtaining and calculating estimated weights of loads and accurately calculate sling angles and capacities and will be confident enough to stop any operations if you consider them too dangerous to proceed. We are looking for an individual who can make the correct selection of lifting equipment for each task and demonstrate knowledge of the correct application including chain blocks, pull lifts, tirfor, slings and shackles. Their ideal candidate will have demonstrable lifting and rigging experience within a chemical site, coupled with experience in working on Project, Turaround and Maintenance environments. Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate a background of working around heavy machinery, such as cranes and MEWPs and moving biased loads. Candidates will be focused on SHE at all times and will prioritise the daily workload of diverse multi-trade jobs and be the ‘Lifting Supervisor’ when working on crane lifts. You will be a qualified CPCS Slinger or hold a Signaller qualification and ideally hold a Lift Supervisor Qualification, although this isn’t essential. It would be desirable if you have experience as an MEWP Operator (IPAF) or FLT / telehandler. Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that you have a full UK driving licence.
