Teacher of Business and/or Economics (Maternity)

A lively and engaging teacher of Business and/or Economics is required for September 2020. This is a temporary post to cover maternity leave and is expected to last until May 2021. The successful candidate will be based at QEGS but will teach Sixth Formers from both the boys’ school and our sister school, Wakefi eld Girls’ High School. The ability to motivate, stretch and challenge able students and instil a genuine enthusiasm for the subject is essential. We are ultimately looking for a talented colleague who has fl exibility of approach, an awareness of changing curriculum demands, a readiness to respond to pupils individual needs and are open in their approach to teaching and learning. Applicants must be passionate and knowledgeable about their subject and able to communicate that knowledge and enthusiasm successfully to students. They should also be committed to raising achievement of all students, possess high energy levels and demonstrate a strong record of success. The successful applicant will also need to be a committed team player and he or she may also bring new ideas to the teaching of business and economics and will contribute to raising the profi le of the subject even further through extra-curricular activities. All teachers at QEGS are encouraged to play a full part in the wider life of this thriving school. We are able to confi gure the post in ways which may suit quite different applicants, and are happy to receive applications from newly qualifi ed or experienced teachers, and teachers with different experience of each specialism. The position is likely to be 0.8 FTE but there is fl exibility both up and down around this. Salary is MPS/UPS. The Teachers’ Pension scheme is also applicable.
