Technical Sales Representative Salary: Negotiable DOE Excellent OTE Laptop Mobile Fully Expensed Travel Pension Share Options Location: Can be home based on territory OR office based in Ayrshire, Scotland Territory: North West Germany (Hamburg, Bremen etc) The Requirements of the Technical Sales Representative: A BSc/MSc/PhD Degree within a Life Science or related field such as Biomedical Sciences, Microbiology, Food Science, Nutrition, Biochemistry or Chemistry is highly desirable You will already be working as a Technical Sales Representative, Territory Manager, Account Manager, Field Sales Representative ideally selling Microbiology/Food Safety/Food Testing equipment or consumables This could include rapid diagnostic test kits for microbiology, pathogen or allergen testing, tissue culture plastics, pipettes, pipette tips, ELISA’s or molecular biology reagents will be fully considered You must be living on territory right now based in North West Germany and willing to travel circa 40% of the time You must hold a full EU drivers licence and have a valid passport OR Live in a commutable distance to their offices in Scotland and be fluent in German You will also have one of the above or similar life sciences degrees and have current sales experience of equipment and/or consumables in the Life Sciences/Microbiology /Food Safety sector Must be able to display a proven ability to work with customers, work independently out in the field and as part of a team where required Have a full valid UK driving licence and valid passport The Role of the Technical Sales Representative: Reporting to and liaise closely with the Sales Manager for Germany. Assume responsibility for management and business growth in the assigned territory for my client’s market leading Food Safety product portfolio including microbiology products spanning Spoilage / Indicator Microorganisms and Pathogens across platforms including molecular, optical, Immuno based as well as DCM and RTU media Develop and generate sales to meet or exceed budget sales revenues for products. Help devise and implement a business plan for this territory based upon business requirements for that territory Communicate with existing customers on a consistent basis to monitor customer satisfaction Have an excellent understanding of the products supplied and the national requirements (like German food law §64 etc) Ability to run and demonstrate all test kits in front of potential customers. Act as first point of contact in efforts to solve technical customer issues, liaising with divisional manager and technical support teams where appropriate Where required, assist in the development of marketing plans and strategies to penetrate new markets and increase growth and profitability in the designated territory Attend and analyse industry trade shows and meeting to promote products and services. Assist in completing and maintaining competitive analysis Assist in the development and translation of sales material where appropriate Provide a monthly written report on the situation and developments in that territory and other reports when required Prepare, develop and maintain a database of customers and potential clients The Company & Opportunity: My client is a global leader in the field of Quality Control/Analysis for Food and Hygiene testing laboratories This specific position is within their Distribution division for their wide range of Microbiology Test Kits which serve the Food and Agricultural markets You have the opportunity to manage a high-performing territory They are experiencing rapid growth as they have focused on the demands of the European market and have direct sales teams in France, Germany, UK, Netherlands, Ireland and Switzerland Awarded the Queens Award for Enterprise for international trade and development, one of the highest awards bestowed on a UK company You must have the right to work in the UK or EU to apply.
