Overview

Birmingham City University is looking for a higher education marketing specialist with brilliant people management skills, creativity and drive to lead student recruitment activities across the full range of our faculty-based subject specialisms. You will oversee and co-ordinate the work of our four Faculty Marketing and Communications teams, based across our two city centre campuses, and our Faculty Campaigns Manager – with whom you will develop close and effective relationships with our central Campaigns team. You will ensure a focus on great content, creative campaigns, robust analysis and superb on-campus events, such as Open Days and Applicant Taster Days. You will drive the best possible student journey experience, aligning your teams’ communication and engagement with enquirers, applicants and offer holders to the wider work of the department and University. As a member of the Marketing and Communications Senior Leadership Team, you will report to the Deputy Director and work closely with the heads of the other four parts of the Department – Campaigns and Digital, Admissions, Student Recruitment, and Communications. You will have a strong background in higher education, understanding the intricacies of the application and conversion cycle, as well as proven marketing skills. A track record of getting the best out of people, managing teams, as well as campaign development and analysis, is crucial to taking on this exciting but demanding post.
