Overview
Borg Automotive UK Ltd is based in Wednesbury in the West Midlands. We are part of the BORG Automotive Group, one of the largest remanufactures in Europe which have facilities in Denmark, Poland, Belgium, Spain and German along with the UK. Currently the company remanufactures all of Borg Automotive steering components, both mechanical & electronic. Borg Automotive UK currently have a position open for an electrically bias NPI Technician with good knowledge of automotive components both Mechanical & Electronic. Having knowledge of the remanufacturing process would help however training will be given. The position is a permanent position, full time role working Monday to Thursday 07:00-15:30 and Friday 07:00-13:00. The main purpose of this role is to conduct research and development into new products in line with business needs, and to ensure that all new products introduced has the relevant documentation and tooling to produce safe & repeatable Quality product. Other duties included in this role & are required to achieve your KPI’s are as follows; · To provide support to R&D, NPI and Quality teams regarding the introduction of new parts on the production lines. · To ensure that Quality, H&S, equipment, tools and people are integrated and always followed to all processes · To always seek new cost-effective solutions to support business growth and financial viability · Creating and resolving issues with BOMs and/or components · Be the primary contact for sample approvals and consolidations, update of data sheets and/or bulletins for the identification / communication of any technical details the production needs to have · Dismantling and reverse engineering of steering products · Ability to evaluate and set test requirements · Maintains component sample inventory, related databases and maintain original part sample library · Research new types of steering systems · Support the updating of the process instructions and visual standards when need it. · Train or support training on new and/or existing processes The successful candidate will have an analytical mind, be reflective, pragmatic and cautious. This role requires an approach which supports a business drive to bring a strong quality ethos to all processes / products and working disciplines. A good strong logical mind and hands-on approach are essential to succeed in this position. The candidate must be able to organize and prioritise their own work and be flexible in approach to meet company requirements. Must have experience in vehicle communication systems, advanced automotive diagnostics using EST tools, be able to read vehicle wiring schematics and identify automotive OE/AM connectors. Good level of computer skills is a must. These include Excel, Word, Power Point & adobe photo shop. Understanding of LEAN principles. CAD s/w would be an advantage along with a knowledge of Photo editing. The closing date for this role is 8th April 2020 , all applications should be directed to our HR Department.
