Overview
Our client is an established manufacturer with a lot of high profile customers. They have recently gone through significant business change to enable further growth. They are now looking for a highly established Head of Procurement to join their team and take the business to the next level. As Head of Procurement you will be responsible for the following: Evaluate the recent change, team, suppliers, and customer expectation to develop a strategy that is fit for purpose, and delivers across all objectives Continue to build supplier relationships into long term strategic partnerships Drive quality, cost, and delivery metrics Support the senior leadership to help shape the direction of the business Build strong relationships with all stakeholders of all levels Support the team to develop skills and create a succession plan Monitor business trends and product availability to pay the best price for company goods and services without sacrificing quality or delivery times Manage the purchase of supplies, equipment, and materials. Manage a procurement team of buyers, purchasing assistants and purchasing manager As Head of procurement you will have the following skills and experience: Qualified purchasing professional (MCIPS) Proven manufacturing experience Project management experience Detailed knowledge of EU and UK procurement legislation, supplier and contract management. Experience of procuring contracts. Experience of procurement installation and use of procurement systems. Strong working knowledge of procurement processes Extensive expertise, having operated at a strategic level with a strong track record of success in delivering financial savings. Experience of sourcing and contract management Previous experience of conducting business process re-engineering. Experience of tendering and managing high value contracts under EU procurement law, including contracts which exceed £1m. This is an exciting time to join this organisation.
