Overview

Job Role: Cover Manager Location: Gloucester Salary: Grade G - actual salary £17,040 pa Hours: 37 hours per week, term time only Our client, St Peter's Roman Catholic High School and Sixth Form Centre, located in Gloucester, Gloucestershire and is a mixed 11 - 18 school with approximately 1500 pupils on roll. The Sixth Form consists of approximately 300 students with KS5 students showing real leadership and progressing to a wide range of destinations, including to prestigious universities and to sought after apprenticeships. 24% of their students receive Pupil Premium funding and 22% of their cohort has a special need or disability. They pride themselves on their pastoral care and have invested in their Student Support Services who provide additional support for students with, for example, mental health issues and who liaise with external agencies. They are currently seeking to appoint a cover manager to manage all aspects of the day-to day cover arrangements as well as to deliver pre-planned work in the classroom for absent colleagues. The person appointed will ensure that students are engaged in pre-set work, will manage student behaviour and ensure a safe environment. Cover Manager responsibilities: Manage all aspects of day-to-day cover arrangements Use SIMS cover module effectively Plan staffing and rooming, when varying from set timetable Plan staffing and timings for all special events including Masses and liturgies Implement room changes and organise room change notices Implement planned absence requests, following approval by Vice Principal Organise cover for absent staff, using available colleagues or when authorised, engaging supply teachers Respond to all relevant telephone, email and other messages relating to role Publish clear cover arrangements to the on-line HTML link You will have: Excellent organisational skills and efficiency Experience of using ICT in particular familiarity of SIMS Ability to handle difficult situations with sensitivity and confidentiality and to be non-confrontational High level of written and verbal communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills: an excellent and effective communicator with staff as well as with students and parents The ability to use one's own initiative whilst recognising when to refer issues elsewhere The ability to work unsupervised An understanding of the curriculum and organisation of a secondary school Training: On the job training and appropriate external courses as necessary General Information: The job description details the main outcomes required and should only be updated to reflect major changes that impact upon the outcomes of the job All work performed/duties undertaken must be carried out in accordance with relevant school's policies and procedures, within legislation, and with regard to the needs of the community we serve Jobholders will be expected to be flexible in their duties and carry out any other reasonable duties commensurate with the grade and falling within the general scope of the job, as requested by the Principal or line manager For further information and to apply, please visit the below link. https://www.eteach.com/job/cover-managercover-supervisor-1094898 Please note that our client's DO NOT accept CV applications, therefore you must follow the link to be redirected to a page where you can complete and submit your application form.
